Submissions for human generated cover art are now open.
Prior to throwing the call for submissions wide to the writers of the world, we need a cover for our first anthology. The title will be The Waking Dream: Rage and Rapture, and it will be fairy tale retellings, reimaginings, and original tales. Let your imagination run wild! Make it weird. (We like weird.)
- Absolutely No AI: Art submissions must not have any image generation or text generation automated elements.
- Submit the cover art ONLY at this time. Font treatment, spine art and back cover will be discussed after we choose an artist.
- Many of the elements of the final cover cannot be decided until after the stories have been selected and the print book formatted. Please submit cover art concepts with the understanding that the final package of art will include:
- Formatted front, back, and spine for paperback editions
- Formatted ebook cover
- Formatted audiobook cover
- One digital graphic element that we can use as a sticker or bookmark
- Review of the ARC and any edits that come after that review
- Please provide a 100-200 word third-person bio. (Don’t worry, brand new, unpublished artists are encouraged to submit! Just tell us who you are. If you do have published works, do please let us know that.)
- Please provide a 100-200 word artist statement about the inspiration, thoughts, dreams, and intuitions that lead to your cover design.

- Though we are working toward being able to pay full price up-front, currently we are only able to offer a revenue share. Cover artist will be included in the royalty share pool. You must have a pubshare account (free to create) set up by the time we produce the book.
- Cover artist will also receive one free contributor copy of the book, and a contributor discount, should you wish to purchase additional copies.
